As a nest feather he won Nest Feather & Young Bird shows, but he lost his tail before the year's Open Shows started. It grew back...and dropped out again.
I showed him only once - without a tail - at Northampton 2010. I was told that with a tail, he would have been BYB.
Well that's budgies for you, no doubt there will be other disappointments to come, but then there are the highlights to look forward to as well.
